Shared Stewardship 

We act together to create the conditions that all living things need to thrive. We begin by acting with those who are struggling and suffering, but do not stop there. Our work extends to other species and the planet, to build healthy, equitable communities and ecosystems.

 

Compassion 

We have a reciprocal responsibility and common humanity with all people that leads us to work to protect others’ rights, create policies and programs that provide for others’ needs, and support others’ pursuit of happiness and joy.

 

Belonging

We take intentional action to create a culture of community and belonging in which everyone feels welcomed and valued; and work tirelessly to sustain that culture with policies and procedures that end oppression and lead to an equitable distribution of power.

 

Justice

We advocate strongly and vigorously for practices that maintain our democracy and its institutions; that ensure the fair treatment and equitable status of all people and groups; that address systematic oppression against particular groups; that seek to repair harm to those affected by institutional injustices; and that hold accountable those who break the law.

 

Inclusion

We take intentional action to create communities where everyone is both included and affirmed. Inclusion ensures that every person has a rightful place and voice; affirmation ensures that each person’s identity, experience, and truth are recognized, respected, and celebrated. We work to dismantle barriers that prevent full participation while cultivating a culture where people are valued for who they are, not who they are expected to be.

 

Nonviolence

We commit to act with courage, restraint, and compassion, choosing dialogue, understanding, and empathy over harm. Nonviolence is not the absence of conflict but the presence of respect — a conscious practice that transforms anger into action and fear into connection. We strive to transform unjust systems through peaceful means that respect the dignity of every person.
